“Deduct points for this”: Czech figure skaters dance to AI slop music at the Olympics
Olympic ice dancing duo Kateřina Mrázková and Daniel Mrázek drew ire from viewers after they were caught using AI music for their routine. Part of their dance for the 2025/2026 season features a tune in the style of Bon Jovi but created by a large language model (LLM), according to their official bios.
As usual, the backlash against the use of AI and accusations of creative theft came faster than a speed skater across the finish line.
Discord announced the new “Teen By Default” program, and the internet answered with the “Age Verification” meme
Discord announced plans to roll out a new age verification system worldwide in March, and people online were not happy with the news. The platform framed the update as a safety improvement, especially for teens.
However, many longtime users reacted with skepticism. Soon after, frustration spilled onto social media, and the simple phrase “Age verification?” turned into a meme.
Olympian Sturla Lægreid’s ex responds after he confesses to cheating on her in post-race interview: “Hard to forgive”
Sturla Holm Lægreid had just won the Olympic bronze medal and chose, instead of thanking coaches or teammates, to reveal he cheated on his ex-girlfriend. Although he had just secured an Olympic medal, he framed his situation differently. “I had the gold medal in life,” he said. While acknowledging that others might judge him, he added, “I only have eyes for her.”
Now, the woman at the center of that moment pushed back on how it unfolded.
